DOE RUN -- Wayne Junior Coatney, 76, formerly of Morehouse, died March 25, 2012, at the John J. Pershing Veterans Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
Born Dec. 6, 1935, in Parma, to the late James Coatney and Lola Mae Goodwin Coatney Landers, he was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served from 1954 to 1957, and worked as a psychiatric assistant at Farmington State Hospital before retiring.
Survivors include: one son, Wayne Bradley Coatney of Morehouse; one daughter, Marjorie Jones of Bunker; one half brother, Lynn Landers of Morehouse; one stepsister, Bonnie Hann of Dexter; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Shirley Hood of Knob Lick.
He was preceded in death by one son, David Brian Coatney, one brother, Raymond Coatney, and one stepbrother, Earl Landers Jr.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. E.J. McDougal, pastor of Christian Tabernacle, will officiate.
Burial with full military honors will follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Pallbearers will be: Ferrell Wilson, Tom Stanley, Tim Harris, Mike Dillard, Gary Ozment and Matthew Landers.
