The announcement that Do It Best Corp. will invest $30 million to construct a retail service Center in Sikeston brought a round of applause from everyone involved. Sikeston chosen for distribution facility

SIKESTON -- When Do It Best Corporation was looking for a site for a new distribution facility, they found Sikeston could do it best.

Wednesday, officials from the Fort Wayne, Ind., based company, along with city, county and state officials, announced plans to construct a $30 million retail service center in the city's Business, Education and Technology Park. The facility will replace the company's original facility in Cape Girardeau.

"This investment -- and the new facility it will create -- will not only help us continue to meet our members' current needs but will position us well for our future growth plans," said Do It Best Corporation's President and CEO Bob Taylor. "The review and evaluation process selecting a new RSC site was thorough and exhaustive and helped us arrive at a decision that we believe is the right one for our members, our co-op and all of our team members."
