CHARLESTON -- Paperwork for federal funding to clean out ditches in Mississippi County has met the April 1 deadline.

Darin Gant, district conservationist for the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Natural Resources Conservation Service, met with commissioners during their regular meeting Thursday to discuss and to get signatures for Emergency Watershed Protection projects in the county.

Paperwork is ready for around $5 millions in EWP projects within the county, according to Gant, with county-sponsored projects totaling about $1.2 million.
