DEXTER -- Lorane Robert Blunt, 87, died March 30, 2012, at the Golden Living Center in Dexter.
Born Dec. 26, 1924, in Aid, son of the late Henry Blunt and Violet Summers Blunt, he was a carpenter and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II.
On June 11, 1948, in Dexter, he married Beryl Williams, who preceded him in death on March 3, 2002.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Alfred Blunt and Henry "Bud" Blunt; and three sisters, Mary Lou Gay, Opal Ward and Gladys Dixon.
Survivors include: one son, Scott Blunt of Dexter; one daughter, Sharon Redd of Memphis, Tenn.; two brothers, Raymond Blunt of Poplar Bluff and J.W. Blunt of Wappapello; four sisters, Nancy Kalmbach of Swartz Creek, Mich., Wilma Tanner of Burton, Mich., Anna Mae Lambert of Grand Rapids, Mich. and Patsy Clubb of Kinder; and five grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 1 p.m. until service time at 3 p.m. Monday at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. The Rev. Quintin Davis will officiate.
Burial with full military honors will follow in the Sadler Chapel Cemetery.
