Risco one-hits Gideon for conference win

GIDEON -- The Risco Tigers allowed just one hit in a 13-0 win over Gideon in a Tri-County Conference game on Thursday.

Matt Cummins earned the win, pitching four innings, allowing just one hit while Chris Pavy finished the game by striking out the side in the fifth.

Pavy was also big at the plate, going 3 for 3 while Jordon Pavy and Justin Earnheart were 2 for 3 while Brandon Bixler was 2 for 4.

Risco (8-3) will host Holcomb on Monday and play at Cooter on Tuesday in games that will likely decide the top three seeds in both the Tri-County Conference and district tournament.

South Pemiscot 12, Hayti 3

HAYTI -- South Pemiscot improved to 2-6 on the season with a 12-3 road win over Hayti on Thursday.

South Pemiscot pounded out 12 hits, with Logan Carter, Jacob Trammel, Zach Whittington and Uriel Jiminez all with two hits.

Trammel earned the win with nine strikeouts in four innings.

CAMPBELL -- The East Prairie's Ryan Mathis tossed a four-hitter in the Eagles' 7-1 win over Campbell on Thursday.

Mathis pitched a complete game, striking out nine and walking only two.

Nathan Maynard was 2 for 3 with a double and two RBI to lead East Prairie (7-3) at the plate.

EAST PRAIRIE -- East Prairie's Ryan Mathis had four hits and two home runs in the Eagles' 8-7 win over St. Vincent on Wednesday afternoon.

Mathis finished the day 4 for 4 with two home runs, a double and four RBI while also earning a save as East Prairie improved to 6-3.

Marc Marcum and Zach Downing each had two hits as well for East Prairie while Downing earned the win in relief of starter Dalton Golightly.

JACKSON -- The Sikeston Bulldogs fell to 6-2 on the season with an 11-2 loss to Jackson on Thursday.

Doug Still picked up the loss for Sikeston while collecting two hits including a double. Gavin O'Brien also had two hits in the game.
