CARUTHERSVILLE - A man wanted in connection with a shooting is now in custody.
The Pemiscot County Sheriff's Department reported Tuesday the arrest of Lee Houston, 41, on charges of first degree assault and armed criminal action.
The arrest stems from an incident April 16, just outside the Holland city limits, when officers responded to a report of a fight. At the scene, deputies found one man with a gunshot wound to the leg and learned one person had fled the scene after shots were fired between him and the wounded individual.
According to Sheriff Tommy Greenwell, when officers went to Houston's home in Steele, they were given permission to search the residence. Houston was found hiding in the attic.
