RISCO -- Ruby Jane Yeats, 84, died April 18, 2012, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born March 18, 1928, in Dawson, Ga., to the late Frank G. and Cassie Mae Wigington Matthews, she was a member of the Pleasantview General Baptist Church in Risco.

In October 1944, she married George Shafer who preceded her in death in 1980. On July 6, 1973, at Caruthersville, she married Edgar Walter Yeats who preceded her in death on Jan. 9, 1997.

She was also preceded in death by one son, George Shafer, one brother, Bill Matthews, and two sisters, Irene Cleaves and Ann Robino.

Survivors include: six daughters, Patricia Ann Garcia of Fort Worth, Texas, Mary Jane Aboukassem of Risco, Doris McCarthy of Lowndes, Sandy Morowski of Marble Falls, Texas, Hazel Bryson of Dyersburg, Tenn., and Betty Clark of the state of Tennessee; three sons, Emmanuel Randy Shafer of Westminster, Colo., Paul Yeats of Farmington and Charles Yeats of St. Louis; four sisters, Mary Hutching of Arvado, Colo., Pam Pantoja of Clarkton, Betty Jane Haase of Oakbrush, Calif., and Shelby McClintock of Arvada, Colo.; and 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Mark Powell officiating.

Burial will follow in the Rosewood Cemetery in Malden.
