PIEDMONT -- Kenneth Dwayne Mills, 69, died April 22, 2012, surrounded by his wife, daughter and mother at his home in Piedmont.
Born Feb. 6, 1943, in Sikeston, son of Georgia Ritchie Mills of Sikeston and the late Kenneth Mills, he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during the Vietnam War, and worked in sales and marketing for CITGO Petroleum before retiring.
On June 2, 1967, he married Sue Hillis who survives of the home.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by: one daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Matt Bredemeier of Grand Forks, N.D.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Lynn and Lisa Mills of Oran and Derek and Sheila Mills of Vanduser; and one granddaughter, Lily Bredemeier.
One sister, Brenda Sue Mills, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, April 26 at the Ponder Funeral Home where services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 27. The Rev. Mark Anderson, pastor of Lynwood Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau, will officiate.
Interment with full military honors will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
Pallbearers will be: Lynn Mills, Derek Mills, Matt Bredemeier, Richard Phegley, Gary Hilton and Bervil Hillis.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Fowler, Ray Fulkerson, Dennis Underwood, Bob Herring, Steve Lindsey and Jimmy Turnbough.
