Passenger dies following crash

ADVANCE -- A DeSoto woman was killed Thursday in a one-vehicle accident in Stoddard County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at 11:46 p.m. three miles east of Advance. Donald R. Smith, 35, of Marble Hill was traveling east on Route O when his vehicle lost control in a curve, ran of the roadway, striking several road signs and a utility pole before overturning.
