Murder suspect pleads not guilty

NEW MADRID - A man charged in the fatal shooting of his girl friend entered a not guilty plea to charges of first degree murder and armed criminal action.

Timothy D. Richmond, 46, of Tallapoosa waived formal arraignment Monday in Division II of New Madrid County Circuit Court before Associate Judge Charles Spitler and entered the not guilty plea.
