CHICAGO -- Eric Pierce, 59, formerly of Charleston, Mo., died May 3, 2012, in Chicago.
Born Nov. 4, 1952, in Charleston, to the late Waymon and Rovine Crider Pierce, he was a graduate of Charleston High School and attended the University of Missouri in Columbia, Mo. He retired in 1991 from the U.S. Postal Service in Chicago.
On Dec. 7, 1973, he married Winnie Davis who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son, Marcus Pierce of Chicago; one daughter, Nicole Allen of Des Plaines; three brothers, Gregory Pierce of Hanover, Roddy Pierce of Charleston and Raymond Pierce of Mattson; three sisters, Lee Ethel Pierce of Charleston, Erma Bates of Chicago and Winda Pierce Ellis of Bellwood; and four grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from noon until time of services at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Opportunity Church of God in Christ with Steve Betts, pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston with Williams Funeral Home of Charleston in charge of arrangements.
