NEW MADRID -- Charles Edward LaValle Jr., of New Madrid, died May 10, 2012, at the home of his daughter in Cape Girardeau at the age of 75 years.
He was born July 19, 1936, in Cape Girardeau, to the late Charles Edward and Laura Riley LaValle.
He is survived by his wife Ella Broughton LaValle of almost 47 years; four children, Kaki LaValle Beasley (Donny), Matt LaValle (Emily), Ed LaValle (Becky) and Caroline LaValle Holiman (Jay) all of Cape Girardeau; and seven grandchildren, Devin, Peyton, Caroline, Christopher, Chase, Savannah and Everton. He is also survived by four siblings, Virginia Carlson, Bob LaValle, Kathleen Deegan and Mark LaValle.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Bill.
Charles attended Chaminade Preparatory High School and St. Louis University. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from the University of Missouri in 1958. Charles was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in New Madrid.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid. Parish prayers will be at 7:30 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Church with the Rev. Jarek Skrzypek officiating.
Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: George Broughton, Tommy Broughton, Bud Henry, Jimmy Cravens, Russell Krebs and R.D. James.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Ted Eftink, Dick Phillips, Dick Twitty, Steve Riley, Robert Riley Jr. and Joe Drake.
