CARUTHERSVILLE -- An escapee from the Caruthersville Police Department has turned himself back into authorities; however, another man remains at large.
According to a news release from Caruthersville City Marshal Tony Jones, Larry D. McIntyre, 21, and Rakeem D. Sanders, 22, both of Caruthersville escaped from custody of the Caruthersville police officers on Thursday as they were being transported after appearing in municipal court on nonviolent charges.
Family members of McIntyre contacted the police department on Friday advising them that McIntyre wished to turn himself into custody. A short time later, arrangements were made, and officers met McIntyre at a family member's home and he was taken into custody.
Sanders is still being sought by authorities. He has family in Caruthersville and is believed to have some ties in Paragould, Ark. Sanders is a black male with black hair and brown eyes, 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs 140 pounds. He was last seen running east from the city municipal court building toward Walker Avenue in Caruthersville.
