Emerson using Scott County as example for flood map bill

Thursday, May 17, 2012

WASHINGTON -- Eighth District Rep. Jo Ann Emerson won acceptance for an amendment to the FY 2013 Homeland Security Appropriations bill, which provides funding for the Federal Emergency Management Agency, regarding changes to flood hazard maps. The bill was considered in the House Appropriations Committee Wednesday morning.

It should not be that way. These changes create serious costs and concerns about development," Emerson said.
