DEXTER -- Charles Evertt Campbell, 87, died May 17, 2012, at the Gideon Care Center.

Born Oct. 24, 1924, in Painton, to the late James Cleveland and Talitha Jane White Campbell, he had lived in the Essex and Dexter area and had worked as a truck driver in Indiana and Michigan most of his life. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and had attended the Sweet Prospect General Baptist Church in Dexter.

On Oct. 27, 1943, he married Dimple Louise "Dink" Campbell who preceded him in death in 1999.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Glen Campbell and Albert Campbell, and three sisters, Ruby Breiler, Daisy Welch and Ruth Ingleton.

Survivors include: three sons, Charles Monty Campbell, David Campbell and John Campbell; and one daughter, Janet Campbell.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of services at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter with Steve Tippen of Bloomfield officiating.

Burial will follow in the Essex Cemetery.
