PUXICO -- Marvin Lee Johnston, 71, died May 21, 2012, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born Nov. 1, 1940, in Puxico, son of Edith Glenda Law Johnston of Jackson and the late Andrew Jackson "A.J." Johnston, he had lived all his life in Puxico where he was a retired row crop farmer, truck driver and member of the First Baptist Church. He was a former member of the Puxico School Board.
On March 15, 1984, in Puxico, he married Sharon Thilman, and she survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Angela Joann Johnston and Todd and Dena Johnston all of Poplar Bluff; one stepson and daughter-in-law, David and Mary Beth Davidson of Jackson; two daughters and sons-in-law, Tara and Jim Carpenter of Poplar Bluff and Michelle and Kevin Cook of Jackson; one stepdaughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Danny Blaylock of Gordonville; one brother, Carroll Johnston of Salem, Ore.; and 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, William Ray Johnston; and one sister, Barbara Joyce Johnston.
Visitation is from 5 p.m. until time of services at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico.
Burial will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the Puxico Cemetery.
