SIKESTON -- Robert J. Alaniz, 81, died May 17, 2012, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Sept. 18, 1930, in Chicago, to the late Antonio and Domitila Munoz Zaragoza, he was a retired printer manager, having worked in Chicago for many years. He was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sikeston and the League of United Latin Americans (LULAC).
On Dec. 25, 1982, in Chicago, he married Jewel Irene Rogers, who preceded him in death on March 12, 2010.
Also preceding him in death were two brothers, Sam Alaniz and Arthur Alaniz.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Robert A. and Cecilia Alaniz of Chicago; two sisters, Evangeline Rubio and Anna Marie Rubio, both of Chicago; two grandchildren, Micaela Alaniz and Robert A. Alaniz Jr.; and one great-granddaughter, Briana Alaniz. He also was the fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held today at the Montclair-Lucania Funeral Home in Chicago.
