DEXTER -- Imogene Manes, 89, died May 27, 2012, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born Aug. 20, 1922, in Powhatan, Ark., daughter of the late Lawrence King and Gertrude Mitchell King, she was a member of the Dexter Church of Christ and a cook in the Richland School District.
On Nov. 6, 1937, in Blytheville, Ark., she married Austin Manes, who preceded her in death on Nov. 7, 1999.
She is survived by two sons, Bobby Manes and Terry and wife Linda Manes both of Essex; two daughters, Nedra Tucker of Dexter and Cathy Harris and husband Bill of Jefferson City; one brother, Redmon King of Cherokee Village, Ark.; three sisters, Inez Weld of Burlington, Iowa, Glada Buchanan of Murray, Ky., and Mary Ann Smiley of Olive Branch, Miss.; and seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Raymond King; one sister, Erma Hickman; one daughter-in-law, Lois Manes; and one granddaughter.
Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday with Herman Morse and Travis Quetermous officiating.
Burial will follow in the Walker Cemetery.
