Enrichment classes draw youngsters back to the classrooms

BENTON -- Local students are taking a chance with Kelly schools' Monopoly-themed summer school this year.

"Hawkopoly" -- the district's version of the board game -- began Tuesday throughout the district in Benton, which is the home of the Kelly Hawks.

"We started researching the game and found out this is the 75th anniversary," Kelly Elementary Principal Fara Jones said about the board game. "We learned the community chest was a way communities in the past collected donations from people and businesses to help others in need."

Over the years the name has changed, and it's now known as the United Way, Jones said.
