TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Vera Belle Baker, 87, died May 31, 2012, at the Capital Regional Medical Center in Tallahassee.
Born Oct. 2, 1924, in Bernie, Mo., daughter of the late Reben and Zana Gaines Craft, she was a long-time resident of Bloomfield, Mo., and Dexter, Mo., before moving to Florida several years ago. She was employed for over 30 years by the Elder Manufacturing Company in Bloomfield.
In January 1944, she married Shelton Baker who preceded her in death on Aug. 24, 2006.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Dewane Craft and James Craft.
Surviving are: one son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Shirley Baker of Tallahassee; one sister, Bonnie Parsons of Dexter; two granddaughters, Suzanne Baker-Poggie and Catherine Baker of Tallahassee; and a great-granddaughter, Sophie of Tallahassee.
Visitation is scheduled to begin at12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
Graveside services with Kenneth Gaines of Bloomfield officiating will be held on at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Bloomfield Cemetery in Bloomfield.
