Roy Hon
CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Roy Hon, 86, died June 1, 2012, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
Born March 6, 1926, in Parma, son of the late Lawrence and Alma Warren Hon, he served in the Pacific Theater during World War II, was a member of the First Baptist Church in Risco and had retired from teaching, coaching and administrating.
On March 13, 1944, in New Madrid, he married Marcella Johnson who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Barbie Hon of Poplar Bluff; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and Daniel Kimes of New Madrid and Phyllis and Doyle Swiney of Fulton; one sister, Joyce Hook of McLeansboro, Ill.; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Elma Loys Parks.
Services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Lonnie Mittag officiating today at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.
Burial with military rites will follow in Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
