NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Louis Calvin Wilson, 74, died June 1, 2012.

Born in Arkansas, he grew up and was schooled in Missouri, graduating in 1955 at Sikeston. He retired in 1993 after service in the U.S. Navy and a lifelong career with the McKesson-Robbins Wholesale Drug Co. Louie had an endless dry wit and maintained his sense of humor to the end. He was a man of strong moral character, selfless and always put his Lord and family first. He loved being on the golf course and was happiest when his home was filled with family and friends. He brought love and joy to many relatives, close friends and even mere acquaintances. He always smiled: "the sunniest guy in town."

He is survived by: his wife of nearly 48 years, Beni; two daughters and a son-in-law, Dana Rae and Phillip Hobby and Leslie Beth Clifton; a son, C. Hays Wilson; grandchildren, Luke, Melanie and Amanda Belflower, Louis and Alex Clifton; a great grandson, Jack; a brother, a brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and four sisters-in-law; and beloved pets, Sabine, Soames and Stanley.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

The family would like to thank the numerous friends who called and stopped by to visit with Louie during his brief illness for their outpouring of love.

A private memorial services will be held with the North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 North Main in North Little Rock, in charge of arrangements
