MoDOT officials detail summer road patching, paving

CHARLESTON -- MoDOT has good news -- and just a bid of bad news -- for Mississippi County.

David Wyman, area engineer for the Missouri Department of Transportation, updated the Mississippi County Commission during their regular weekly meeting Thursday on MoDOT's plans for the summer.

Overlay projects on Highways 80, 102, 77 in Mississippi County will be part of a $1,493,235 contract awarded Wednesday by the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission to Magruder Paving of Troy, according to Wyman.

State Transportation Improvement Program funding to help the county repair flood-damaged roads was secured by U.S. Representative Jo Ann Emerson, Wyman said.

Work will include two sections on State Highway 80 from just east of Route AA near East Prairie to Belmont; State Highway 102 from south of Highway 80 at the setback levee to State Route A near Dorena; and two sections of State Highway 77 near Wyatt and Dorena.
