DEXTER -- Leeon Sugg, 67, died June 7, 2012, at his home.
Born April 16, 1945, in Sikeston, to the late Daniel Lee and Gladys Mae Marlin Sugg, he lived in Sikeston before moving to Dexter three years ago. He owned and operated his own auto body repair shop for more than 30 years and was a member of the Morehouse Assembly of God Church. For over 20 years, he and his wife served as foster parents to many children.
On Oct. 8, 1986, in Sikeston, he married Sandra Carol Newell, and she survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons, Doye Smith and Gabriel Sugg of Dexter; three daughters Brenda Salis of Dayton, Ohio, and Michelle Smith and Misty Hare both of Dexter; two sisters Tressie Goetz of Clarksville, Ind., and Verblene Lovelace of Pine Bluff, Ark.; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy Sugg, and J.R. Sugg.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Sunday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Assembly of God Church in Morehouse with the Revs. Larry Portwood of Morehouse and Ira Sandefer of Sikeston officiating.
Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
