EAST PRAIRIE -- James Holt Jr., 38, died June 9, 2012, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
Born Feb. 8, 1974, in Chaffee, the son of James Holt Sr. and Joyce Dial Holt Goehri of Sikeston, he was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church and was a Sunday school teacher for 13 years. He was active in field trial competitions with beagles.
On May 22, 1992, in Sikeston, he married Trina Spencer who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Hannah Holt of the home; two brothers, Jason Holt and Louis Goehri of Sikeston; one sister, Hope Crossett of Hudson, Fla.; his mother, Anita C. Whitworth Moore of Cape Girardeau; and his maternal grandmother, Maxine Dial of Sikeston.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. today at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Adams, pastor, officiating. He will be assisted by the Rev. Keith Wilson of Alma, Ark.
Burial will follow at the Dogwood Cemetery.
