EAST PRAIRIE -- James Holt Jr., 38, died June 9, 2012, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
Born Feb. 8, 1974, in Chaffee, the son of James Holt Sr. and Joyce Dial Holt Goehri of Sikeston, he was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church and was a Sunday school teacher for 13 years. He was active in field trial competitions with beagles.
On May 22, 1992, in Sikeston, he married Trina Spencer who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son, Jacob Holt of the home; one daughter, Hannah Holt of the home; two brothers, Jason Holt and Louis Goehri of Sikeston; one sister, Hope Crossett of Hudson, Fla.; and his maternal grandmother, Maxine Dial of Sikeston.
Services were conducted today at the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Adams, pastor, officiating. He was assisted by the Rev. Keith Wilson of Alma, Ark.
Burial followed at the Dogwood Cemetery with Nunnelee Funeral Chapel of Sikeston in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were: Charles Michael, Josh Beardsley, Jerrod Hull, Tony Allen, Bodie Jordan, Tom Foster, Rick Aters and Wes Bye.
