SIKESTON -- It's been a groundbreaking year for the Sikeston Habitat for Humanity chapter. In addition to becoming an independent chapter, it will also begin construction on its fourth home.
The groundbreaking ceremony for new home recipient Davita Robinson was Monday on Matthews Street in Sikeston.
"This is an amazing experience," said Robinson, a Sikeston resident, with a huge smile on her face. She said she is excited about receiving a home because she wouldn't have been able to do it on her own.
"A home is a wonderful thing," said Richard Hampton, project manager for Habitat.
