ORAN -- Rita H. Todt, 87, died June 13, 2012, at Chateau Girardeau.
Born Feb. 20, 1925, in Chaffee, to the late Robert J. and Mary Griffin Margrabe, she was an elementary school teacher, first teaching at Caney Elementary. After earning her college degree she taught in Sikeston. She was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran, St. Ann Sodality and Ladies K.C. Ettes Council #4311. She was also past secretary treasurer of Guardian Angel Credit Union and past member of MSTA for many years
On June 1, 1948, she married Harold J. Todt, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 24, 1985.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Harold Todt; one daughter, Jane Todt; two brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include four sons and three daughters-in-law, Michael and Sandy Todt of Sikeston, John Todt of Astatula, Fla., Charles and Deana Todt of Cape Girardeau and Dale and Susan Todt of Jackson; four daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret and Leman Loftis of Branson, Mary and Jim Senciboy of Fenton, Lucy and Larry Brindley of Oran and Cathy and Bill Johns of Festus; two brothers, Lawrence Margrabe of Florissant and Marvin Margrabe of Benton; and 19 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation is at 4 p.m Sunday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran. A Parish rosary will be at 7 p.m. and K.C. prayers will be at 7:15 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran with the Rev. Randy Tochtrop serving as celebrant.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
