MATTHEWS -- Bertha Hodges, 101, died June 18, 2012, at Sells Rest Home in Matthews.
Born Dec. 5, 1910, in Vanduser, daughter of the late Virgil and Sybilla Welter Stacy, she was a member of Little Vine General Baptist Church.
On May 2, 1929, she married Wesley "Bobe" Hodges, who preceded her in death on Sept. 11, 1995.
Survivors include: three sons, James W. "Sonny" (Gaynell) Hodges of Matthews, Harold Hodges of Sikeston and Dale Hodges of Belleville, Ill.; five grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, three brothers, one sister and one grandson, Mike Hodges, preceded her in death.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ponder Funeral Home. The Rev. Geoff Posegate, pastor of First United Methodist Church, and the Rev. Ron Spell, pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
Pallbearers will be: Wesley Hodges, Steve Hodges, Ronnie Hodges, Robert Robertson, J.W. Nelson and Earl Watson.
