DES MOINES, Iowa - The Iowa Cubs activated infielder Blake DeWitt from the disabled list on Saturday and doubled in his first game back.
The former first round draft pick and Sikeston native suffered a sprained left wrist while diving for a ball in left field against Tacoma on May 24, and was placed on the disabled list the next day.
DeWitt started at second base on Saturday and was 1-for-4 with a double. He was 0-for-1 as a late game replacement on Sunday.
In six games with Iowa, DeWitt is hitting .222 (4-for-18) with two doubles and a RBI. DeWitt was hitting .138 (4-for-29) with one double and a RBI in 18 games with the Chicago Cubs this season, before being assigned to Iowa on May 18.
Iowa was off on Monday and play tonight at Round Rock.
