CHARLESTON -- Margaret Ann Petty, 61, died June 19, 2012, at her home.
Born Jan. 24, 1951, in Henson, to the late J.D. and Veatrice Crider Wilson, she was owner of Margaret Petty Day Care for over 20 years and a foster parent for the state of Missouri. She was a member of New Beginnings Church where she was the church mother.
On March 23, 1980, she married Willie B. Petty who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: four sons and a daughter-in-law, Marcus Emanuel, Everick and Sandra Emanuel and Kevin Emanuel of Charleston and Brent Emanuel of St. Joseph; two daughters and a son-in-law, Annetta Gibbs of Charleston and Nishelle and Hardy Crawford of Jefferson City; eight brothers, J.D. Wilson, James Wilson, Anthony Wilson, Lorenzo Wilson, Favis Wilson, Randy Jennings and Fred Jennings of Charleston and Charles Ray Jennings of Fulton, Ky.; two sisters, Carolyn Jennings Brown of Akron, Ohio and Lawanda Wilson of Charleston; and 26 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
One son, Willie Emanuel preceded her in death.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. until time of services at noon Saturday at the Bowden Civic Center in Charleston with Antonio Moton, pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston with the Williams Funeral Home of Charleston in charge of arrangements.
