BERTRAND -- Larry Gale Brown, 71, formerly of East Prairie, died June 20, 2012, at his home in Bertrand.
Born July 15, 1940, in Mississippi County, to the late Prince Albert "P.A." and Hazel Luella Jones Brown, he had lived in Mississippi County his entire life. He had been employed as a police officer in East Prairie a number of years and also worked in construction.
On June 2, 2000, he married Betty Lou Oldham, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are: three sons, David Brown and Sammy Brown of Hamilton, Ala., and Chip Brown of East Prairie; two daughters, Shelia Rivers and Donna Ferrel of Hamilton; two stepsons, Shannon Oldham of Sikeston and Jimmy Loflin of East Prairie; two stepdaughters, Lisa Stone of Bertrand and Stacy Loflin of Charleston; one sister, Betty McEntire of Miner; 13 grandchildren and 12 stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Dale Brown; and two sisters, Glenda Johnson and Patsy Held.
Private memorial services will be conducted.
