SCOTT CITY -- James John Mirgeaux, 87, died June 26, 2012, at Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee.
Born Feb. 24, 1925, in Fornfelt, to the late Joseph and Alice Rozmerski Mirgeaux, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in World War II. He was also a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso and V.F.W. Post 3838 in Cape Girardeau. He was a self-employed bricklayer.
On Oct 18, 1949, in Kelso, he married Valeria G. Ressel, and she survives.
Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Terry Mirgeaux of Scott City and David and Beverly Mirgeaux of Scott City; one daughter, Rene Phillips of Scott City; and three grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso. Parish Prayers will be at 7 p.m. at the church.
A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. Oliver Clavin as celebrant.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors.
