STAFFORD, Va. -- Regina Kay Zumwalt, 56, of Stafford, a lifelong heart patient who passed away due to heart transplant complications, died on June 20, 2012, at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C.
Regina was born on Feb. 26, 1956, in Sikeston, Mo., to the late Edward and Ellen Eason. Regina has been a kindergarten teacher for Stafford County Schools for the past 28 years starting in 1988 until her passing.
She is survived by: her loving husband, Fred Zumwalt; two sons, Zachary Zumwalt, his wife, Kathy, and their children, Koa, Caspian and Arwen, of Portland Ore., and Nicholas Zumwalt and his wife, Laurie, and their daughter, Lillian, of Fredericksburg. She is also survived by a brother, Benny Eason, and his wife Patsy of Sikeston.
A service to celebrate Regina's life will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2012, at the North Stafford Church of Christ, 500 Shelton Shop Road, Stafford, Va., with Clayton Smith, elder, presiding.
