FREDERICKTOWN -- Alvin Lee O'Dell, 82, formerly of East Prairie, died at 6:30 p.m. June 28, 2012, at his daughter's home in Sedgewickville.
Born Oct. 17, 1929, in the Pultight community near East Prairie, to the late Raymond Lee and Mary Jane Rolan O'Dell, he was a retired upholsterer and of the Pentecostal belief.
In 1981, he married Rosemary Garrett who preceded him in death on June 18, 2012.
Also preceding him in death were three sons, Ronnie Ray Graham, Danny O'Dell and Kenny O'Dell, three brothers, Raymond Paul O'Dell, Charles O'Dell and an infant brother, and one sister, Frances Jane O'Dell.
Survivors include: seven sons, Jimmy Lee Smith of Moberly, William Preston Smith of Sikeston, Steve O'Dell of Baton Rouge, La., Leroy O'Dell of Cape Girardeau, Jimmy O'Dell with the U.S. Navy in Oregon, Sandy O'Dell of Los Angeles and Raymond O'Dell of Fisher, Ind.; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Tammy and Richard McDowell of Sedgewickville, Carolyn Marie Smith of Fredericktown, Lisa Jean and Mark Woods of East Prairie and Terri Joann Graham of Potosi; four brothers, James O'Dell of Morley, Earl B. O'Dell of Fisher, Carl Eugene O'Dell of Oran and George W. O'Dell of Sikeston; three sisters, Betty Sue Tripp and Florence Parnell of East Prairie and Mary Louise Bell of Sikeston; and eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held from noon until time of graveside services at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. His brother, Carl Eugene O'Dell, will officiate.
Burial will be in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
