NEW MADRID -- Dora Dimple Essary, 91, died July 3, 2012, at the Golden Living Center.
Born Nov. 6, 1920, in Caruthersville, to the late Thomas Marion and Katie Leona Goodrum Handley, she was a homemaker and member of the Kewanee United Methodist Church since the 1950s.
On Feb. 19, 1946, in Crown Point, Ind., she married Levie Wilson Essary, who preceded her in death on Aug. 25, 1988.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one daughter, three brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Esther Essary of Matthews; two daughters and sons-in-law, Doris Jane and Scott Glassmeyer of Bertrand and Martha Sue and Mark Sutton of Matthews; and 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. today at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday with Billy Davis of Kewanee officiating.
Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Jason Essary, Darin Essary, Justin Ling, Matthew Glassmeyer, Chris Shelby, Marcus Sutton and Daniel Sutton.
