EAST PRAIRIE -- Bobby C. Gammons, 66, died at 6:03 p.m. July 2, 2012, in the East Prairie Nursing Center.
Born Dec. 5, 1945, in Dorena, to the late William and Maude Adams Gammons, he was of the Pentecostal belief and was a retired truck driver.
On March 18, 2005, he married Mary Carter who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Bobby Dale and Justina Gammons of Wetumpka, Ala.; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Karen and Steven Gann of Tallassee, Ala., Marsha and John Vandenbrook of East Prairie, Kristie Stewart of Malden and Jody French of Wappapello; eight brothers, William Melvin "Curly" Gammons, Walter "Bugs" Gammons, Jr. , David "Weasel" Gammons, Billy Gene Gammons all of East Prairie, Larry Gammons of Lilbourn, Lonnie Paul Gammons of Sikeston, Roger Gammons of Cameron and Joe Gammons of Fort Meade, Fla.; one sister, Martha Sue Ward of Columbia, Ala.; and14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, O'Dell Gammons; one sister, Lula "Sissy" Baker; and one granddaughter, Ashleigh Sheeree Gann.
Visitation is at 5 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday with Larry Gammons officiating and a eulogy by his daughter, Marsha Vandenbrook.
Burial will follow in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Tony Carter, Robert Carter, Jim Bo Taylor, John Gifford, Mark Gammons and Winston Carter.
