DES MOINES, Iowa -- Former Sikeston Bulldog Blake DeWitt continues to start for the Iowa Cubs but his struggles continue at the plate.
In 20 games, the former first round draft pick is batting .149 with 14 strikeouts, nine walks, 10 hits, four runs, three doubles and four RBI.
From July 1-5, DeWitt is 2 for 18 with two RBI and two walks. He's started at both left field and first base during that time.
On July 1 he went 1 for 5 with an RBI while playing left field. Dewitt went o 0 for 4 with an RBI July 3 and had a 1 for 3 day at the plate on July 4 with a single while starting at first base.
DeWitt and the Cubs will finish a five-game homestand with the Omaha Storm Chasers today and will be off until Thursday for the Triple-A All-Star break.
