Scott County Post 369 take two from Cape Freshmen

CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Scott County Junior Legion Post 369 baseball team took care of the Cape Freshmen Legion 7-2 and 8-3 Monday during a doubleheader in Cape Girardeau.

In the first game, Scott County scored all seven of their runs in the top of the sixth inning breaking a scoreless tie in the process.

Lane Henson and Zach Carlyle each led Post 369 with two hits -- two singles apiece. Trevor Job added one hit and two RBI.

Tyler Rogers was the benefactor of Scott County's seven run barrage throwing a complete game on the mound for Post 369.

Rogers, who had four strikeouts, allowed the two runs on six hits and four walks.

Scott County continued their hot hitting in the second game having four players with multiple hits.

Lane Henson, who earned the win on the hill, Job, Zane Eggiman and Austin Wadlington all had two hits.

Job hit a two-run double, Wadlington drove in three RBI and Henson scored three runs in the 8-3 win.

Henson allowed one unearned run in two innings. He gave up one hit, one walk and struck out two.

Scott County (14-15) will play the 14U Bulls today at 6 p.m. at Notre Dame High School.
