PARMA -- Ludie Opal Joyce, 96, died July 9, 2012, at Gideon Care Center in Gideon.
Born Oct. 7, 1915, in Scott County, daughter of the late Joe Skidmore and Laura Jane Ketchum Skidmore, she was a homemaker and member of the First Baptist Church in Parma.
On Oct. 7, 1933, in Risco, she married Reecie Joyce, who preceded her in death on Feb. 22, 1960.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Charles Joyce; an infant son, Cletus Joyce; four brothers, Essco Skidmore, Harlan Skidmore, Armar Skidmore and J.L. Skidmore; and four sisters, Ethel Skidmore, Edith Howard, Mamie Mercer and Loreen Jones; and three grandchildren.
Survivors include: two daughters and a son-in-law, Rebecca Joyce White of Malden and Carolyn Joyce and Jim Cornman of Malden; four grandchildren, Dawn Cornman Vogel of Sikeston, Steve Joyce of Canalou, Eric Cornman of St. Louis and Dr. Aaron Cornman of Pierce City; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 9:30 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. Thursday at Landess Funeral Home in Malden. The Rev. Jim Cornman and Dr. Aaron Cornman will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Park Cemetery at Malden.
