SIKESTON -- Cheston Pierce, 86, died July 9, 2012, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born June 17, 1926, in Lamar, Ark., to the late Eara and Sinda Phillips Pierce, he had been a maintenance worker for the Sikeston Country Club and was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Canalou.
He married Rachel R. Branum who preceded him in death.
Two brothers and one sister also preceded him in death.
Survivors include: five nephews, Vernie Cummins, Ray Pierce and Frank Pierce of Canalou and Ron Pierce and Don Pierce of Silver Springs, Colo.; and four nieces, Barbara Spencer and Joy Johnson of Sikeston, Kay Bailey of Canalou and Marsha Johnson of Matthews; and several great-nieces and -nephews.
Services were conducted today at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Mike Cartwright, pastor of the Assembly of God Church in Canalou, officiating.
Burial followed at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
