SIKESTON -- Peggy Jean Bearden, 73, died July 13, 2012, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born March 21, 1939, in Wyatt, daughter of the late Arthur and Sue Murphy Parr, she and her husband owned and operated J.D.'s Steak House in Sikeston for many years.
On Aug. 15, 1966, she married J.D. Bearden, who survives of the home.
In addition to her husband, survivors include: two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jason Bearden and Reese and Leann Wright all of Sikeston; one daughter, Robin Whittle of Sikeston; one brother, Buddy Parr of Bertrand; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Pat Wise of Sikeston, Jane and Charles McKinley of Bertrand, Pauline Heckert of Sikeston and Nancy and Donald Hurst of Sikeston; and six grandchildren.
Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ponder Funeral Home where services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
Burial will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
