EAST PRAIRIE -- Dixie L. Counts, 70, died at 4:45 p.m. July 15, 2012, at her home.
Born Sept. 12, 1941, in East Prairie, to the late Lloyd and Elsie Myers Clark, she lived in East Prairie most of her life and was of the Protestant belief.
On Feb. 14, 1969, at East Prairie, she married Kenneth Eugene Counts who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons, Michael "Smokie" O'Connor and Kenneth Todd Counts of East Prairie; two daughters, Nicka Johnson of Marianna, Fla., and Sue Weakley of East Prairie; six brothers, Corky Clark of East Prairie, Terry Clark of Anniston and Lloyd Clark, Boyd Clark, Lonnie Wayne Clark and Floyd "Babe" Clark of Granite City, Ill.; two sisters, Charlene Worthington of Stanfield, N.C., and Doris Ryan of Covington, La.; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and special friends, Bea Smithson, Terry Jackson and Jamie Galemore.
One son, Joe Wayne O'Connor, two grandsons, Scottie Weakley and Jake Johnson, and one infant sister, Joyce Ann Clark, preceded her in death.
Visitation is scheduled at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday with Martin Lucas officiating.
Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Larry Secoy, Les Keene, Derek Johnson, Kenny Dowdy, T.J. Irby and Wade Marlow.
