Jackson man gets 15 years for theft from DeWitt Co.

SIKESTON - A Jackson man will spend 15 years in prison for his theft from his Sikeston employer.

Jason Mitchell was sentenced Monday by Judge William L. Syler. A jury on June 19 found Mitchell guilty in the theft of more than $500,000 from Dewitt Co., a Sikeston-based landscaping material firms.

Larry DeWitt, owner of DeWitt Co., was in court Monday when the judge handed down the sentence. It was "a bittersweet victory," DeWitt said of the sentence.
