MARSTON -- Junior Hayes, 89, died July 16, 2012, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born July 11, 1923, in Ridgely, Tenn., to the late R.H. and Clara Fausett Hayes, he was a lifetime member of the Evergreen Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, Sunday School superintendent and church usher.
On June 7, 1942, in New Madrid County, he married Helen Roberta Hall, and she preceded him in death on Sept. 8, 2011.
He was also preceded in death by one grandchild, Jeremy Alan Hayes; one brother, Harold L. "Pee Wee" Hayes; and one sister, Marjorie Prince.
Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis Ray and Violeta Hayes of Wynne, Ark., and Robert Alan and Joy Hayes of Marston; one daughter and son-in-law,
Patricia Ann and Ben Johnson of New Madrid; one sister, Lois Mitchell of Dallas; one brother, Jerry Hayes of Marston; and eight grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Evergreen Baptist Church in Marston, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday with the Revs. Dennis Hayes and Webb Manley officiating.
Burial will follow in the Mounds Park Cemetery in New Madrid.
DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville is in charge of arrangements.
