SIKESTON -- Jerry R. Davis, 65, died July 22, 2012, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born July 12, 1947, in Poplar Bluff, to the late Russell A. and Velma Dickerson Davis, he served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a rural letter carrier for 33 years for the U.S. Postal Service and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sikeston.
On June 19, 1976, in Morehouse, he married Deborah G. "Debby" Frame, who survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: one son, Matthew Davis of St. Louis; one daughter and son-in-law, Mandy and Todd Anthony of St. Louis; his mother-in-law, Betty Frame of Sikeston; and his brother-in-law, Dale Frame of Sikeston and two grandchildren, Schuyler Anthony and Jackson Anthony, both of St. Louis.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. today at the First United Methodist Church, where funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Geoff Posegate, pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery in St. Francis, Ark., under the direction of Nunnelee Funeral Chapel.
Pallbearers will be John Brawner, David Sloan, Danny Joe Byrd, Mike Dickerson, Randy Borsh and Ronnie Cole.
