DEXTER - Earl Lee "Jr." Stilts, 87, died July 26, 2012, at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter.
Born Oct. 2, 1924, in Gypsy, to the late Lee and Alma Hedrick Stilts, he had lived in the Puxico area most of his life. A retired mechanic at John Deere, he was a farmer with Douglas Farms. He was a member of the Kinder Chapel near Puxico, a charter member of the Mingo Saddle Club at Puxico and a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II.
In 1972, in Leora, he married Georgie Issac, who survives of Dexter.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Kathy Wiese of Columbia and Nancy Sanders of St. Peters; one stepdaughter, Frances Stovall of Puxico; three stepsons, David Hayes and Darrell Overton of Puxico and Elroy Overton of Pasco, Wash.; and three grandchildren, 13 stepgrandchilden, seven great-grandchildren and several great-stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Jeanette Sitze and Bodge Straatman, and one stepson, Oscar Overton.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Ray Placher of Puxico will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Puxico Cemetery.
