DEXTER -- Earl Miller, 87, died July 27, 2012, at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Born Dec. 15, 1924, in Dexter, son of the late Luther and Ida Gooch Miller, he had lived all of his life in Dexter and had worked for the Worley Implement Co. John Deere dealer for 32 years. A veteran of the U.S. Navy , he was a member of the Dexter VFW for 65 years.
On May 18, 1946, in Piggott, Ark., he married Esta Lee Gillis, who preceded him in death on Jan. 5, 2004.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Gary Lee Miller, and one sister, Lois Matthews.
Survivors are: two daughters, Diane Pewitt of Cape Girardeau and Regina Hastings of Farmington; one brother, Clarence Miller of Essex; one sister, Freda Eaton of Dexter; and four grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Graveside services with the Rev. Jimmy Kirby of Dexter officiating will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Essex Cemetery in Essex.
