Officials hear first-time bills

Tuesday, July 31, 2012

SIKESTON -- Several bills were read for the first time during the Sikeston City Council's special briefing session Monday.

These were:

* A bill which would amend city code to prohibit parking at any time on the east side of the 200 block of Luther as requested by city resident L.D. Anderson; and on Allen Boulevard between Baker Lane and Cotton Trace from 2-4 p.m. when school is in session, as requested by city resident Mary Madison, was read for the first time.

Both requests were reportedly made as a result of vehicles blocking driveways during school hours.
