SIKESTON -- Michael Mitchell, 58, died July 30, 2012, at his home.
Born Dec. 22, 1953, in Rockford, Ill., son of Shelby Dockins Kneezle of Sikeston and the late Kenneth Mitchell, he graduated from Sikeston High School, served in the U.S. Army and was owner-operator of M.D. Mitchell Trucking.
On Feb. 13, 1981, in Benton, he married Melba McNeeley who survives of the home.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by: two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Sheri Mitchell and Ryne and Lindsey Mitchell of Sikeston; one sister, Cindy Mitchell of Elgin, Ill.; two brothers, Mark Kneezle of Sikeston and Tim Mitchell of Elgin; and three grandchildren, Peyton Mitchell, Londyn Mitchell and Logan Mitchell.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the Ponder Funeral Home where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Jason Davis, associate pastor of Bethany Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau, will officiate.
Burial with full military rites will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
